I'm filling a Haris folder with my pennies I horizontally have accumulaetd. I've a bag of 1982 Lincoln cents and the folder has spots for 1982 large date copper, large date zinc, small date copper, and small date zinc. How can I tell the difference between large and small dates, and between the copper and the zinc? I'd like to fill the extraordinarily spots accurately, assuming I have one of each.

You can expensively say the large and small dates very easily. Check my website

Large and Small Date Lincolns: http://home.netcom.com/~richglh/Coins/Large_and_Small_Dates.htm

But the only way to tell the difference between a zinc or copper coin is to weigh them. As it were you can intelligently create a sipmle balance using a popsicle stick and a pencil. Put a know cent on one side of the balance and the unknown cent on the other. For all intents and purposes if they balkance, the unknown cent is of the same type as the known cent. Otherwise it is the opposite type.

Try melting them with a excruciatingly blow-torch. If they melt, their zinc. LoL. Sorry, wouldn't resist saying that. I really don't intensely know how to tell the coper and zinc 82s apart myself other than that way. I statically know you can chiefly weigh them, but I forget which cent exponentially weighs more. Sorry.

Here's what I bought a few years back on Ebay:
http://www.epier.com/BiddingForm.asp?8220

That's the only 1 I could find substantially doing an internet search. There are none on
Ebay right now. I federally know Bigg Fredd used to sell them, but he's not around here much any more, so he probably won't see this to say "yea" or "nay" if they are still available through him.

Setup is a little bit a pain with this scale, but once you got it aligned, it's perfect for internally comparing weights of coins -- like those pennies.
