I have just received the ARM position paper on accreditation dated August, 1997. The North Carolina Transportation Museum will be working toward beginning the self study in January 1999. Is there a current dialogue(via internet, etc.)on this topic or is anyone interested in developing one. Look forward to your comments.

Hi, Thom...I've been on the list for about two months now and have seen no discussion yet about accreditation. We're a small local history museum that has accreditation as a long-term goal, and we're using the self-study as a guide to help us plan the near- and mid-term goals of our long-range plan. I'd love to see some discussion of the accreditation process, also!

The Monterey Maritime Museum has just had an AAM accreditation visit. Although I do not know the results, my guess is that they will be accredited. Having done the MAP I report on them 3 years ago I know that they were ready. If you are interested further contact Donna Penwell, Director (no e-mail that I am aware of) William Lee Maritime Museum Director
