A friend has just had an accident involving a piece of family porcelain. They are planning to try to put it back together themselves and are wondering what kind of glue to use? Any suggestions? Admitting even a marginal knowledge of things 'antique' puts you on the same level as the owners of pick up trucks- 'useful friend' catagory Thanks,

I've used Elmer's glue on pottery and porcelain (like your friends, family stuff that's not worth putting money into but which will look OK without a microscope).
