Museum Listers-

Does anyone know of any on-line material regarding the care and storage of blue prints (and vellums)? A standard book on map or blue print care?

Why not try the American Institute of Architects, www.aia.org? They operate a wide range of programs and could likely answer your questions easily.

You could contact the Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts in Phila at 215-545-0613. They regularly have seminars on conservation care of blueprints and other works on paper.

Dear Judy,

Boston University has JD/MBA Historic preservation degree. I would call and see if any of the courses focus on art law.

just take that it is not coated. sometimes it is coated with an oil or powder to make it easier to pull apart.

If your collection is likely to experience broad temperature changes, you need to watch for condensation that could harm the items in your collection.
