I've recently inherited a sword, and am not a collector. I'm looking for information on tracing it's origins/maker, and whether it has any value or not, and do not know where to begin.

It is approx. 38 inches in length. The blade is not sharp on either sides, but it's pointed is quit pointed and sharp. The hilt is a goldish bronze in color and their isn't a shred of tarnish on it. On both sides of the blade towards the hilt it is adorned with engravings. On one side within the pattern is the word TOLEDO and on the other BOABDIL.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about researching this sword?

Eric

It's a reproduction of a historic sword. Not a high value item.

Try searching on AltaVista (www.altavista.com) advanced search with the string:

boabdil NEAR sword

(And here I thought it was the work of Tolkien's elves...okay, it sort of sounded like Bombadil.)
