At least I think it's carnival glass.

My mom was watching the Antique Road Show and saw a punch bowl in orange carnival glass. The expert said it was worth about $1,500 and that had it been blue, it would have been worth a lot more.

She hiked up into her attic and dug out her grandmother's *blue* punch bowl, with pedestal and cups (6) to show me today. Each piece has the letter 'N' on the bottom and the design is peacocks fountains and flowers. Nothing seems to be chipped or broken, but there are only five of the little thingies that hang the cups from the punch bowl.

Can anyone tell me anything about this, like what the 'N' signifies and where (books, internet site, etc.) I can research this a little more?

Thanks kindly for any help you can give.

Hi I collect carnival glass the N you are talking about stands for northwood.

it sounds like you have a nice piece. Go to a book store and get a book on carnival glass.

Thanks to all of you kind folks for replying. I intend to keep my prize and eventually display it. (No place for it right now.) How should I clean it? Other than simply wiping it with a soft cloth?

Thanks again.
