Can anyone shed some light on a machine I acquired - a commercial popcorn machine made by Butterkist (the best I can make it out). The old guy I got it from used to run a theater during the depression years and used it then. It got stored away in the garage till now. Anyone have pictures, or know of a musium where there is another I can look at? It is a neat machine with a timer that automatically dispenses popcorn into the cooker, pops it for a set time, ejects it onto a wide chain-like conveyer belt that sorts out the culls by dropping thru the openings in the 'belt', then a set of wheels coats the kernels with salted butter as they come off the conveyer and drop into the bottom of the machine. He said that at one time the bottom half of the machine was a peanut roaster, but he doesn't know where it went to. There are so many open gears that OSHA & FDA would have cow!

Yum! I feel a popcorn attack coming on. I wish it was still the 30's, and I could drench it in butter without fear of clogged arteries though! <SIGH>
