gold drip, weeping gold vases,ashtrays,s-p shakers etc.

does anyone know anything about this stuff. my mother collects it and has quite a bit. it looks like someone poured melting gold on a vase or ashtray and candy dishes. some of it says 22 ct. on the bottom and some has 24ct. on it some or most of it was made in wheeling va. i believe, but she does have some pieces from fla and calif. i think. any info would help me. she wants to insure this collection( some fifty pcs) and ask me to help her . i dont know diddly about this crap so any help would be fine.
