Group has lost its way - John B.

John B. - I am a very recent addition to the newsgroup but have already sensed a deviation from the main topics more often than not. My reason for subscribing to the group was to find others with like interests so that I could discuss antiques, perhaps share news of some great finds, get advice and ask questions. I, as you, have seen a lot of 'he said/she said' and ads (which I thought were forbidden) and less questions and sharing.

What gives you guys?!?!?

Have you posted some discussion notes? They won't be here if people don't post 'em.

As far as the commercial ads go, that's one of our biggest problems here. Have you helped us, by sending emails to the offenders, referring them to the proper newsgroups?

As far as your note above, it kinda seems to be the sort that you're complaining of.

Yup!, sure have posted some topics - and, have received a few helpful responses as well. I guess my statements were a bit of a generalization but it seemed that at least 3 of every 5 post I was reading was either some 'he said/she said' debate or an ad. Thanks for the note of encouragement - I'll keep reading and sifting through to find the gems.
