I'm researching three hand colored aquatints in original frames, one slightly smaller in dimension. They are titled 'Terriers', Fox Hounds' and 'Beagles.' Two images measure 8'X11 3|4, and one measures 6 1|4'X8 3|4'. All are marked as follows, lower left of image, H. Alken, del. (small t over period.) center under image, London, Published by T. McLean, Jan. 1 1820, right corner under image, I. Clark sculp. (small t over period.) I have found a Henry Alken-( British 1749-1830,) but nothing of his history. I have found nothing on McLean or Clark. After much research of the aquatint process ,I'm certain these are authentic, if so, would 1820 be the actual date of publication? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you for time Mari

I spent two days searching the web for the information you so quickly gave me! Thankyou so much. I've lurked around this site for quite awhile now and hope to eventually become a part of your regular group. I've been involved in antiques for over 30 years. This group Tsu Dho know their stuff! Thanks again! Mari
