Skoul, If you paid more than $60-$90 for your new velvet and brass designed sword,simply take it to the closest cutlery shop and have an extremely sharp edge put on it and then won't hurt nearly as much if you decide to slash your wrists or throat. Sorry. <g>

Depending on exactly when you made this purchase, and judging only from your description, I would say with expert confidence, that your sword is likely vintage June to December 1996. Sorry! There are a great many of these 'Made in India' swords floating around; most are inferior quality and usually retail for $30.00 to $60.00.

If you check along the highway you should be able to find a broken leaf spring. You will then have a matched set to hang on the wall.
