Just trying to help a neighbour - he has a (I think a stone) vessel 14' high * 9' wide domed at the top with just over a 1' neck - Marks are as follows - 2155 - J Chalmers & Co - Wine Merchants - Chalmers Buildings - 14 Duke Street - LEITH - Established 185 - Only the domed section is glazed and a darker colour than the rest - I think it may be called a biscuit colour - sorry to be vague but its the best way I can describe it. The opposite side just has the number '2' on its own - He asks if it has any value and how to roughly date it - He is a crofter clearing out some old sheds and selling off what is of value so as to raise a little money. - All items that may have value are being advertised on ebay for him - Had to do this as I fell in love with one item he has but I think it only fair to him that I should bid along with other folk - TIA - Mike (Orkney)
