Not long ago in rec.antiques there was an ad for ADEC art at auction listings online from the U.K. and I subscribed for $50 for which you get 50 responses on any artist that you request and that has a listing. Well, I found a dozen or so 'sales records' for James Montgomery Flagg, the artist best known for his WWI poster ' Uncle Sam', 'I Want You'. I only paid for & received 4 responses that were similar to mine.
4)pastel 'bust of a woman,Garda Clesene $600 I have a drawing that looks from the style of clothes to be from the 20s-30s of a person named either Charles A. Bell OR Charles H. Bell. (Flagg had a peculiar style of printing) I went to my local library and looked through the Who's Who for different years with NO luck. I'd like to know who Charles A. Bell is or was.
