Curatorial Assistants (Archaeology and Social History) Salary 12,670 UKP per annum

Archaeology: fixed term contract, 7 months to March 1999, possibly renewable for a further 12 months Social History: fixed term contract, 6 months to March 1999, possibly renewable for a further 6 months.

The award-winning Buckinghamshire County Museum is looking for enthusiastic, resourceful assitants to work on the regionally important Buckinghamshire collections. The work consists mainly of collections management; documentation, prepartation of inventories, helping to maintain suitable storage and security and assisting with collections based displays and our public access programme. You will have a relevant degree, and wither some museum experience or a museum qualification. Computer documentation experience (preferably ModesPLUS) and a flexible, practical approach are also essential. You will work throughout our collections, but will have a particular imput in either archaeology or social history.

For the *Archaeology* post, a degree in archaeology and experience of archaeological museum collections are essential. Feild archaeology experience would be useful. For teh *social history* post, a relevant degree (preferably modern history), and experience of social history museum collections (preferably textiles) are essential.
