It may seem odd, but is nonetheless true, that things that are quite rare are not necessarily quite valuable. A celebrity doll has to represent someone the collector has heard of, or there's not much interest in collecting. So Shirley Temple, even though millions exist, bring better prices than less well-known celebrities.
Really, a proper appraisal can't be done by book or online, since it is based on factors that can be only appreciated in person. But for a ball-park idea, you might find the good book on celebrity dolls by John Axe. I don't own it, but you might be able to find it in your local library or bookstore.
Hope your Mitzi is in it. If not, you may be able to get a clue from people who collect needlework kits. They MUST exist
