Why not try the relevant museum associations, depending on your location? e.g., American Museum Association, state and provincial museum associations. They often have conferences and courses that may help you. For the web stuff, CHIN is probably a good place to start: http://www.chin.gc.ca/English/index.html

Another favorite resource: www.globalmuseum.com

For info on other mining museums, I typed mining museum into Google, and got 289,000 hits.
