Need Help on Identifying an Old Bowl

I have a bowl with what seems to be a French(?) mark. I was trying to find simillar marks in some of the pottery books, but to no avail. If anyone knows what it is, what it could be used for, period, origin, pattern, etc., I would really appreciate any information. Below is the link for 2 pictures.

I'm sorry, but those images are so dark and 'yellowed', that they're impossible to view for the detail you need.
