I have a bowl with what seems to be a French(?) mark. I was trying to find simillar marks in some of the pottery books, but to no avail. If anyone knows what it is, what it could be used for, period, origin, pattern, etc., I would really appreciate any information. Below is the link for 2 pictures.

I'm sorry, but those images are so dark and 'yellowed', that they're impossible to view for the detail you need.

Ann sed: Thanks for the interest 1.     The First Word just below the round mark, may represent the city/potter name/region and could be either ROUZIN, or something ending with ROUZIN. Thanks, again, Ann

(*<~ Might it be ROUEN ?

<< Can't be of much help, but I did get quite drunk one night in a social club next to the cathedral in the square at Rouen. Great party! Was touring with an antique-car club to celebrate the centennial of the year that the French imagine they invented the automobile. >>

I think Joan of Arc was burned in that very square! StT
