I have this wonderful dining room set with two leaves, six chairs, a two-piece hutch which my parents purchased new in the early 1950s. It is made of this beautiful blonde wood. The upper part of the hutch has these two sliding glass doors. I was wondering how do I get something like this appraised?

Any help or information about this would be greatly appreciated. Please email replies.

What you most likley have is what is referred to as blonde mahogany. They were mass produced & widely available. They were sold in the average furniture store of the period. In Massachusetts they are not very desireable. I had a beutiful set which was as yours including a corner cupboard to boot. I figured the set 500.00 in a house lot & let it go at auction for a little over $180.00 for the whole set. They may be more popular in other parts of the country, but due to the volume of the set it would be very costly to have it moved even if you could get $1,000.00 for it in California.. This is my experience & opinion.. Good Luck
