Any info on cabinet style radio that I've had since 50's would be helpful. It has 'Opns' and 'Made in western Germany' on front of cabinet Freq. arepecial,350-150,sb,1600-520,sw,16m-49m,fm,88-108.Also at bottom has push buttons: off, phono, tape, special, noise,sb,sw,fm.Any info would be helpful. Where were they sold ? In US or just in Germany? What is special band for&what was cost new and now? Any info appreciated. Are 'kc' same as freq. and Mz's today? Thanks,Gary

Gary, Those big Telefunken radios sell for about $75 in central Florida give or take $10-$15. I'm not sure that they are wired for American 110v electricity as I've never owned one.

West Germany dates it since WWII of course. Telefunken did export to US. Guess its up to U to determine if its export or German use. Believe German wall plugs may be different....Most included several wave bands to 'surf the airwaves'. Suggest U check local antique group or store, find local antique radio group (there are many) to determine value. Most likely not over $100. Lars

You will find most of the German radios for German domestic use that include FM stop short of the full 108 mHz, and those for export to the US include the entire US FM band. I missed the first of this thread, but that might help someone.
