I have an old painting of a British Soldier I think.. looks to me kink of like George Washington. I have spend some money on having some one look at it and tell me what they know but... they knew nothing about the painting or even about dating it. It didn't cost much around 75.00 but.. for 75.00 I would of at least expected to know something about it. All I got was an estimated value of the picture for insurance purposes.. but how can that be any good ... Well.. long story short.. if I posted a picture of the painting somewhere is there anyone that can tell me a little about it.. or make a good guess???

ake it to an American Antiques dealer or post a photo to the American Antiques curator at Christies or Sothebys. They'd be more likely to have the expertise you need. StT
