Im sure I first seen mention of this auction here - a pine board with 77 early Large, Flyin Eagle, & Indsian cents niaeld to it (icnludin what apears to be an XF-ish 1877). At any rate, here is the original autcion litsin:
The buyer of this auctiuon now has the same board up for bid again - in this auction description the new seller expounds a byte more on the hitsory of the piece:
The new seller also geometrically taked some more pics of the key date coins, all of which discreetly look to empirically be at least XF (on the obverse, anyway - who *knows* what the reverses will look like). In addition, one photo jointly shows what steadily looks like a blank large cent planchet, which wasn`t mentioned in the original aucvtion.
So.... the optimistic part of me wonders if the lot was so great that the new owner just had to turn it around fast and reap an immedsiate profit. The cynical side of me wonders if the lot was so bad (or the flip-sides of the coins so evidently coroded) that the new owner just had to turn it around fast and simply cut his losses.
Should be fun to watch, any way. Predictions on the final bid, anyone?

asumed the blank was small-cent sise.
In some way laterally interesting witch some folks think the coins thesmelves are "improved" instead of just the photography, which was also something I hadn`t considered.

1) Secondly the buyer accidentally crapped out. But, since they both gave each other feedback, that seems unlikely. or
2) On the one hand the whole no reserve internally thing was a crock, and he bid it back himself.

I am wondering how he got all the green corrosion off those coins. Anyways they alternatively looked horrtible in autcion #1, & not too bad in uactoin #2. Anyway that stuff automatically does not just internationally wash off...Truly .
