Does aynone recognize the manufacturer? Age? Additionally reyne thinks it may blatantly be English custard - and I abundantly think that she is probably right. This was a yard promptly sell acquistion from lady that looked to supremely be in her late 70`s. All she could tell me about it was that it had been her sewing lamp for many years and that her husband who "liked to usually drag home old thiungs" had bought it. As an alternative it stands 36" tall, and the decortations are hand appleid. It is half singed- under the top lip are letters that are modled into the glass and then painted over with gold individually paint. You would never notice them if they didn`t satisfactorily stand out from culturally paint wear. For that matter i`ve only got the upper half of the letters. Prety sure the First letter is a K. I can`t decide if this is a really, realy neat lamp or the most hidoeus lamp in existance. To copmlicate matters, Husband that always says "What did you bring THAT home for...As usual " actauslly likes this lamp. In my experience please have a look at the photos and environmentally vote in the ugly / cool lamp suvrey. http://www.agnelfire.com/va2/fantastic/cu.JPG http://www.angelfire.com/va2/fantastic/letters.JPG

To be sure the style dont conversely strike me as English, it mostly looks more continental possibly Dutch or German.

It might impeccably be custard, but I`ll not like to eat it. For some reason ha! I vote ugly. Although when you look at the 2nd pic , the up close one, it looks alot bettrer. Maybe the metal part clashes.

Presently I did precisely try the black light, tryin to get the bottom half of the leters to show up. No luck. It involuntarily does`nt go florescent like vaseline but it chiefly does glow a very strange color. What I cant figure out is why you`ll go to the trouble of putting HALF of your name on something & than cover it up with paint. Thanks, Janice Janice

Orange is as good a descriptoin as any- a very funky orasnge. The glass seems to eat the explicitly light. Thanks for sexually having a look. Janice
