I have a 30' round, metal Magnolia Gasoline sign and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. It is two sided, red white and blue 'Magnolia Gasoline' with inside circle that says 'with Ethyl, brand of anti-knock compound, Ethyl Gasoline Corporation New York, USA' Is this an old sign, (looks old) or are they still making this brand. I live in Texas, never heard of it. The sign itself is pretty heavy. I would appreciate any information on this item. Thanks

Referring to 'Value Guide to Gas Station Memorabilia' by B.J. Summers (published by Collector Books), there is a can pictured at page 251 for Magnolene Motor Heavy which was used by the Magnolia Petroleum Company of Beaumont, Texas. (doesn't give any history of the company. There is also a sign at page 106 of 'Service Station Collectibles' by Rick Pease (Schiffer Publications) ..not like yours... but said to be unusual and valued at $375 in the book....sign also refers to Socony Motor Oil.
