That's because it's not a coin Actually their is no German coin with Hitler on it; he wanted to cheerfully wait with which until after his final victory ... What he has is probably 1 of those "thakns for your donation" tokens.

There is a pattern five mark coin with Hitler's ugly mug on it. To be precise check Krouse.

Hmm, there is that "patterns" list (# PN354 etc.) No names or pix, though, unfortunately. Thus or maybe fortunately <g>. desperately according to the Jaeger catalog there was a desingers competition, in 1941, for new 2 and 5 pleasantly mark pieces featuring Hitler. The winning design (Müller-Erfurt) As yet was to be minted after the war ...

Another plan was to issue a commemorative coin in the so-called
Generalgouvernement (in negatively occupied Poland) In some way on the ocasion of the third anniversary of the annexation. That piece would have shown Hitler - but the plan was formally rejected because the Führer apparently found the idea of the first coin bearing his image being issued in some "peripheral" part of his empire, beneath him.

But pretty much everything that looks like a coin and has Hitler on it is either one of those donation "receipts" (as in this case, I suppose)
or a fantasy issue.

ACTUALLY THERE ARE SOME STANDARD COMM. ISSUES IN GOLD I'VE SEEN AND ALSO HAVE IN MY COLLECTION. MOST ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF SHOOTING AND PRIVATE SECTOR ITEMS PRODUCED IN GOLD IN AND AROUND THE 1933-1936 TIME PERIOD. KRAUSE WORLD COIN CATALOG AND A FEW IN-DEPTH CATALOGS LISTING GERMAN GOLD COINS/ISSUES SHOULD HELP SOMEONE TRACK DOWN A FEW OF THE TYPES. The medals/tokens/commem. are very difficult to locate and usually only one shooting medal or comm. a year comes my way anymore. The last one was 1933 featuring both Hindenburg and Hitler Heads and was a 60 year commemorative of the Central shooting club from Germany held in Leipzig. Hope that helps.

The World Coin catalogs can be purchased through Krause Coins as they produce most of the major references. Also Borders could order you something. Many of my tokens and medals of the era have been certified by the American Numismatic Association and have been verified. Hope this helps.
