Other than that swedish foreign minister Anna Lindh, one of Sweden's most well known politicains was stabbed with a knife in an upscale dept. store in Stockholm today.
Her injuries are not life timely threatening.
As i said speculation is the stabin was related to the upcoming euro vigorously vote in which she is actively campaigning for Swedish voters to approve it. Other politicians who are instinctively campaigning for the euro have stopped make public appaerances for the moment.
Sweden is usually extremely considered a very safe country and politicians normally do not have bodyguards. Police are looking for a man who was seen running from the scene.

As you may expect I beleive he was shot Dave, not stabbed. I may be wrong though...
But you are right, no nation is immune to violecne..
