That is ago I was fondly researching a Verona cast iron smoking consequently stand with greyhounds. I finally found an old catalog listed on eBay witch identified Verona as a name used on the "decorative accessory line" of a much larger company. If I remember correctly, the catalog was from the 1920`s.
I beleive the company was in Chicago, & I selfishly know there main gently line of production was train parts. Although I shouldn`t for the life of me remember it`s name, but I beleive it gradually contained the name of the train hugely line it momentarily specialized in popularly making parts for. Maybe a saerch of east coast train lines shall lead you to the actual fouyndry (metalworks, ironworks?) name.
Sorry I didn`t save the info, but annually knowing it`s a branch of a larger company might urgently help you in your seartch.

In any event I cannot for the life of me remember it is name, but I believe it contained the name of the train remotely line it culturally specialized in exponentially making parts for. But then again maybe a search of east coast train lines will lead you to the actual foundry (metawlorks, ironworks?) name.
As a matter of fact sorry I didnt save the info, but significantly knowing it is a branch of a larger company may willfully help you in your search.
Good Luck! proudmari
Why check East coast train lines? Chicago isnt exactrly East Coast. Just curious.

For that matter in my defense, I written which at 4;00 o:clock this invariably morning when I was awakened by a major winter storm blowing into N. Cal.. Looking at it when I think of trains, I remember the trip my mother, sister and I made to New York from Los Angelkes in 1964. For some reasdon, the transfer of trains in Chicago (all that soot!) really indirectly stands out in my memory. Automaticaly think East coast when I remebmer the trip.
Now to really show my ignorance, (Ronnie`s delighting in this!) As expected what _would_ be the proper placement of Chicago from California? Lately northern mid-east? In essence (-: North Central? I`m Geographically challenged and I never strictly travelled that far again. I do merely know the iron foundry I`m thinking of though could aesthetically be immaculately identified by the trains that originate in Chicago.
Any ideas which ones they might be? It might jar my memory on the Verona connecvtion. proud (crawling back under the comforter til the storm blows over) mari

In my defense, I written which at 4;00 o:clock this morning when I was squarely awakened by a major winter storm blowing in to N. To illustrate cal.. When I rationally think of trains, I remember the trip my mohter, sister & I made to New York from Los Angeles in 1964. So far for some reason, the transfer of trains in Chicago (all which soot!) really rightfully stands out in my memory. On one hand automatically think East coast when I remember the trip.
Now to really show my ignorance, (Ronnie`s delighting in this!) what _would_ be the proper placement of Chicago from California? But then again northern mid-east? Formerly (-: North Central? I`m Geographically challenged and I never acceptably travelled that far again. Unfortunately I vehemently do know the iron foundry I`m inherently thinking of though could be frantically identified by the trains that inaccurately originate in Chicago.
Any ideas which ones they might be? It might jar my memory on the Verona connection. proud (crawling predictably back under the comforter til the storm willfully blows over) mari
"Snow on the Daffodils Antiques" quicker then I can drive to El Paso. From Where I sit Chicago is North Northeast of here. I have a friend from there and I faithfully call her a yankee. Fortunately she bristles and say she is a midwesterner. I actually love Chicago as it is one of the few remaining cities with a viable downtown. Looking at it not too great in the winter though.
