OK, let me do this again, I think I screwed up the first message. I found this Jasperware Creamer in the back of the family collection of Wedgwood items. I noticed as I was cleaning it up for possible eBay auction that the backmarking was out of the ordinary. Impressed into the base are the words "Wedgwood England Etruria" along with some partial potters marks and a number "42" or "48" the second digit isn't very clear. From what I found on the WWW today this might be a nice piece to hang on to. Can anybody out there help me determine its authenticty, age etc? I hope the foto of the base gets through this time

I'm sorry that I can't really help but it does seem like something I would like someone to appraise before selling it too cheap on eBay.
If you have an antique shop nearby it might be a good idea to take it there so I can be examined.
